What is the focus of this retreat?
We have been through a lot these last 20+ months and have been challenged in a variety of ways. This retreat will give us an opportunity to finally meet in person, unpack our experiences, look into our hearts and discover lessons that are waiting to be revealed.
We will explore multiple understandings for what it means to wear a mask and what it might mean to take our mask(s) off.
What to expect:
Come to be in the company of men, shoulder to shoulder, to make new friends, to listen to their stories, to share our stories and to participate in meaningful rituals.
Fr. Jim Clarke says, “The human soul cannot tell the difference between ritual and reality. Both are seen as metaphorical.”
We will meet to speak from our heart and to listen from our heart gifting each other in the experience.
Gathering Protocol Details
In order to make this gathering as safe as possible for our participants, the Elders’ Council for Illuman of Indiana-Michigan has implemented the following protocols:
- Participants will each have their own room to sleep in. (This restricts the total number of participants to 18.)
- Participants are required to be fully vaccinated and must provide proof of vaccination upon arrival at the retreat center.
- Participants will have their temperature checked upon arrival using an infrared temperature sensor. Those experiencing a high temperature will not be allowed to participate.
- Registrants not feeling well are asked to stay home and upon request will receive a full refund.
We hope these protocols meet with your approval. They were established in an effort to create a safe gathering space for our first in-person retreat in almost two years. They are also in place to reduce the risk of contracting something that you take back to your families and communities.
